Submissions are now open for Aporia XXVI\, the 26th edition of Aporia and 4th edition of Aporia: Feminist Edition
\nAporia\, is the undergraduate philosophy journal published by the \;Philosophy Society at the \;University of St Andrews\, one of \;the \;UK&rsquo\;s top universities. \;
\nAporia is a \;well-established \;journal with 25 editions\, which is \;proud to offer the opportunity for young academics \;to \;get their work published for \;perhaps the \;first of (hopefully) many times to come. \;
\nThe journal publishes two editions\; one with a focus on analytic philosophy \;(Aporia)\, and one with a focus \;on feminist and critical theory \;(Aporia: Feminist Edition). \;We are seeking paper \;submissions \;for \;both \;2026 editions\, which will \;likely be \;published at the end of May 2026. The link to last year&rsquo\;s edition is below.
\n\nWe are happy to receive any philosophy paper written \;during the course of \;an undergraduate program\, \;whether it be something written as \;coursework\, \;or a freestanding piece of work.
\nTo be considered papers must be received by the 11th of January\, be between 2000 &ndash\; 5000 words\, and written in Chicago style. Aporia XXVI Call For Papers | Aporia
Submitted papers \;will undergo a \;multi-stage \;peer review process begining after the CFP deadline\, in which other academic philosophers will read\, \;edit\, \;and discuss the paper in dialogue with the author. Ensuring that throughout the submission process authors are provided with substantive and constructive feedback. Making this an unique learning opportunity for academic writing as well as giving a taste of \;the publishing process associated with writing philosophy. \;
\nFor the 26th edition of Aporia and the Feminist Edition we are looking for philosophy papers in an analytic style that:
\n(1) \; Are written by undergraduate students of Philosophy\, or people who have recently graduated and have not yet completed a year of postgraduate studies in Philosophy
\n(2) \;If \;graded \;by your institution\, accepted submissions will have generally received a first-class grade\, though this is not a strict requirement.
\n(3) \; Are between 2\,000 and 5\,000 words long\, excluding bibliography and abstract
\n(4) \; Include an abstract of no longer than 300 words
\n(5) \; Are written in Chicago Style with footnotes and a bibliography \;
\n(6) \; Anonymised for blind peer-review \;
\n(7) \; Submitted as Word Documents or .tex files with an accompanying PDF file
\n(8) \; Articles should be formatted according to the Chicago Manual of Style (Chicago: University of Chicago Press\, 1982-2010). Recent editions (16th or 17th) should be used for clear guidance on referencing electronic media\, including websites\, blogs\, etc.
\n(9) \; Additionally\, if you would like your paper to be considered for the Feminist Edition\, please indicate that when you submit by selecting the appropriate submission type.
