DESCRIPTION:<p>As part of the research project <em>Analytic Philosophy in Visegrad Countries</em>\, the Matej Bel University in Bansk&aacute\; Bystrica is pleased to announce a three-day workshop titled <strong>"Visegrad Inspirations in the Philosophy of Science"</strong>\, focusing on the historical and contemporary development of philosophy of science in the Visegrad (V4) countries &ndash\; the Czech Republic\, Hungary\, Poland\, and Slovakia.</p>\n<p>V4 countries have a rich tradition in the philosophy and methodology of science\, marked by significant contributions of such personalities as Kazimierz Ajdukiewicz\, Tomasz Bigaj\, Ludwik Fleck\, Adam Grobler\, Wacław Mejbaum\, Adam Nowaczyk\, Tomasz Placek\, Marian Przełęcki\, Andrzej Zabłudowski\, Leszek Nowak\, Jerzy Kmita\, Imre Lakatos\, Michael Polanyi\, Ernest Gellner\, Karel Berka\, Ladislav Tondl\, Pavel Tich&yacute\;\, Jaroslav Peregrin\, Igor Hru&scaron\;ovsk&yacute\;\, J&aacute\;n &Scaron\;efr&aacute\;nek\, Vojtech Filkorn\, V&aacute\;clav Čern&iacute\;k\, Jozef Vicen&iacute\;k\, or Pavel Cmorej. The workshop aims to highlight and celebrate these contributions as well as ongoing work in philosophy of science done in V4 region\, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of theories and methodologies developed in the philosophy of science in the V4 region.</p>\n<p>We invite submissions on all areas of philosophy of science that have been or are being developed by philosophers in the Visegrad region\, including (but not limited to):</p>\n<p>&bull\; &nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Issues in <strong>general methodology and philosophy of science</strong> as developed and inspired by analytic philosophy tradition of Visegrad countries\,</p>\n<p>&bull\; &nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Issues in <strong>philosophy and methodology of special sciences</strong> as developed and inspired by analytic philosophy tradition of Visegrad countries\,</p>\n<p>&bull\; &nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Issues in <strong>ethics of science</strong> as developed and inspired by analytic philosophy tradition of Visegrad countries\,</p>\n<p>&bull\; &nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Contributions of <strong>key historical figures and schools</strong> of philosophy of science\, methodology of science\, and ethics of science in the region.</p>\n<p><strong>Abstract submission: </strong></p>\n<p>Please submit an abstract of <strong>250&ndash\;500 words</strong>. Abstracts should be submitted in English\, have a clear argumentative structure and be prepared for anonymous review. Please include a separate document with your name\, institutional affiliation\, and contact information.</p>\n<p>The deadline has been extended to&nbsp\;<strong>December 7\, 2025</strong>.</p>\n<p><strong>Notification of acceptance:</strong> by <strong>December 21\, 2025 </strong></p>\n<p>There is <strong>no conference fee</strong>\, and <strong>accommodation will be provided for accepted speakers</strong>.
