DESCRIPTION:
The Philosophy Graduate Student Association at the University of Kentucky invites you to our annual graduate student&ndash\;led conference on the theme of Eros. Inspired by Plato&rsquo\;s Symposium\, this event will explore Eros not merely as bodily desire\, but as a transformative force linking the human and the divine.
\n
The conference will feature three invited speakers: one on Plato&rsquo\;s dialogues\, one on the Persian poetic tradition (Hafez\, Sa&rsquo\;adi\, Rumi)\, and one on the Biblical tradition\, with special attention to the Song of Songs. Each speaker will present their perspective\, followed by a collaborative roundtable conversation in which speakers and audience together reflect on intersections\, tensions\, and resonances across traditions.
\n
This format is meant to encourage dialogue rather than isolated papers\, placing philosophy\, poetry\, and scripture in conversation and creating space for graduate students and faculty alike to participate in a symposium-style exchange.
\n
Graduate students from all disciplines are encouraged to submit abstracts (see Call for Papers).
\n
For more information\, please contact: Behanalavi@uky.edu.
