DESCRIPTION:<p>The goal of these monthly meetings is to ignite conversations around talkPOPc&rsquo\;s topics and reignite conversations that were started at previous talkPOPc happenings (which are posted on our podcast). This conversation event will be on the current topic &ldquo\;Power&rdquo\; and will be run by Resident Philosophers Tyler Olds and Dena Shottenkirk (CUNY Brooklyn College) at <strong><em>Liz&rsquo\;s Book Bar</em></strong><strong> </strong>(315 Smith Street Brooklyn\, NY 11231)\,<strong> October 26th 7:00pm-8:00pm.</strong></p>\n<p>This will be a <strong>group discussion\, </strong>unlike the one-to-one conversations held in our tent. &nbsp\;There will be a selection of works surrounding the topic &ldquo\;Power&rdquo\; incorporated into the event.</p>\n<p><strong>Prompted by talkPOPc founder Dena Shottenkirk&rsquo\;s painting <em>We\, the Strong Ones</em> (2024)&mdash\;inspired in part by her work at the Metropolitan Detention Center&mdash\;we will discuss Power\, Freedom of Speech\, and Domination.</strong></p>
