The relationship between culture\, education\, and politics has been a lively and enduring topic of philosophical discussion. As life-long teachers and learners\, philosophers have an inherent interest in what it means to educate in academic settings and beyond. Recognizing that education does not take place in a vacuum\, and in light of technological and political developments since the turn of the century\, the need for a discussion of values and philosophical orientation in education has become increasingly apparent. As such\, this conference seeks to investigate and reimagine the relationship between socio-political and educational systems. In doing so\, we ask: how should we understand the increasing social\, political\, and cultural influence on the processes\, institutions\, and experiences of education? And conversely\, what can\, or should\, be the role of education in shaping its broader context?

\nWe invite papers from all traditions that reflect on the relationship between culture\, politics\, and education from a philosophical perspective\, including (but not limited to) submissions that address:

\n&bull\;Cultural differences and tensions in educational contexts
\n&bull\;Educational inequalities\, freedom\, and liberation
\n&bull\;Perspectives on public-facing or political education
\n&bull\;Theoretical approaches to technical knowledge and skill acquisition
\n&bull\;The role of ethics and social justice in education
\n&bull\;Alternative and decentralized pedagogical movements
\n&bull\;Indigenous and non-western approaches to education
\n&bull\;Reflections on teaching philosophy
\n&bull\;The ongoing relationship of emerging technologies (such as A.I.) to learning and teaching

\nTo apply\, please submit abstracts of no more than 800 words on this form by December 21st\, 2025. Decisions will be communicated by early March\, 2026. Papers should be prepared for 30-minute talks with a Q&\;A session. A limited number of online submissions will be accepted. Sessions will be held in Eastern Standard time (GMT-5).
