It proposes to conceive Kant&rsquo\;s&nbsp\;capacitism&nbsp\;as&nbsp\;faculty-capacitism. On this view\, faculty and capacity must be distinguished because it is&nbsp\;only&nbsp\;by means of&nbsp\;its unique capacity that a faculty can be individuated and&nbsp\;characterized. Kantian faculty-capacitism\, it is then argued\, makes a good case against the dichotomy of additive vs. transformative conceptions of rationality and shows why Kantian rationality is&nbsp\;rather subtractive.</p>\n
