DESCRIPTION:
"Adele shows her breasts to the men" &ndash\; Why we need feminist philosophy of technology.
Workshop and reading with Toni Loh&nbsp\;
\n
How are feminism\, technology\, and philosophy connected&mdash\;and why does this affect our daily lives? In this workshop\, central ideas from the textbook Feministische Technikphilosophie by Toni Loh are presented. Toni Loh invites participants to reflect on questions of identity\, reproduction\, intimacy\, and (care) work in an interactive setting using learning impulses&mdash\;such as an image analysis in an introductory linguistics course. Starting from the question of how knowledge is produced in the Global North and what exclusions are involved\, the workshop guides participants through the main currents of feminist philosophy of technology&mdash\;from Donna Haraway&rsquo\;s cyborg feminism through cyber-\, techno-\, xeno-\, to glitch feminism by Legacy Russell.
\n
Toni Loh holds a professorship in Applied Ethics\, especially Ethics and Transformation\, at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg\, the Center for Ethics and Responsibility (ZEV)\, and the Department of Social Policy and Social Security.
\n
Free admission &middot\; No registration &middot\; First come\, first served
\n
