DESCRIPTION:<p>Neil Levy has recently claimed that the surprising ends-ends&nbsp\;inconsistency of some addicts can be explained using the prediction-error minimisation (PEM) model of the brain. I compare this view with&nbsp\;analogous explanations drawn from&nbsp\;accounts of narrative self-constitution. I argue that&nbsp\;&nbsp\;the two views are&nbsp\;compatible and that the combined view can solve some of the PEM view's problems.</p>
