DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>PAINT Workshop on Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence</strong></p>\n<p>The Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence Network Talks (PAINT) is hosting a two-day in-person workshop at University of Toronto on September 25th and 26th\, 2026. We invite submissions of abstracts for contributed talks and self-nominations for commenters.</p>\n<p>The theme of the workshop is Philosophy of AI and Science. We welcome papers on any philosophical aspect of artificial intelligence\, including but not limited to philosophy of science\, epistemology of science\, philosophy of mind\, metascience. We are interested in work that engages with both foundational questions about the&nbsp\;nature of AI applications in science and normative questions about its development\, deployment\, and regulation.</p>\n<p><strong>CFP:&nbsp\;</strong><strong>Submission Guidelines:</strong></p>\n<p>Abstracts should be no more than 500 words and should clearly describe the main question\, argument\, and contribution of the paper. Abstracts should be prepared for anonymous review (no identifying information in the document). Please submit your abstract via the following form:&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><strong>https://forms.gle/NTp1LdZMY6qTbCHJA&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</strong></p>\n<p>The submission deadline is July 31st\, 2026.</p>\n<p><strong>Travel Support:</strong></p>\n<p>Limited funding is available to support travel costs for workshop participants\, with priority given to graduate students. Further details will be communicated to authors of accepted abstracts.</p>\n<p><strong>Further information:</strong></p>\n<p>Abstract submissions are due July 31st. Decisions will be communicated by August 7th. Each accepted paper will be assigned a commentator.
