DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>Call for Papers</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Colorado State University Graduate Student Conference in&nbsp\;</strong><strong>Philosophy &ndash\;&nbsp\;</strong><strong>Understudied and Underrepresented Philosophies</strong></p>\n<p><strong>April 3\, 2027</strong></p>\n<p><strong><br></strong></p>\n<p><strong>Fort Collins\, Colorado</strong></p>\n<p>The Philosophy Department at Colorado State University invites submissions for its first&nbsp\;Graduate Student Conference in Philosophy\, to be held on&nbsp\;<strong>Saturday\, April 3\, 2027</strong>\, in&nbsp\;<strong>Fort&nbsp\;</strong><strong>Collins\, Colorado</strong>.&nbsp\;The theme of this year&rsquo\;s conference is&nbsp\;<strong>Understudied and Underrepresented Philosophies</strong>. We&nbsp\;invite graduate student submissions that engage philosophical traditions\, figures\, questions\,&nbsp\;methods\, and communities that have historically received less attention within mainstream&nbsp\;academic philosophy. Our aim is to create a welcoming and intellectually serious space for&nbsp\;graduate students to present work that expands the scope of philosophical inquiry and brings&nbsp\;historically marginalized or understudied traditions into deeper conversation with contemporary&nbsp\;philosophical debates.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>We welcome submissions in areas including\, but not limited to:</p>\n<p>African and Africana philosophy</p>\n<p>Arabic and Persian philosophy</p>\n<p>Buddhist philosophy</p>\n<p>Caribbean philosophy</p>\n<p>Chinese philosophy</p>\n<p>Comparative philosophy</p>\n<p>Continental philosophy</p>\n<p>Environmental philosophy from underrepresented traditions</p>\n<p>Feminist philosophy</p>\n<p>Hindu philosophy</p>\n<p>Indigenous philosophy</p>\n<p>Islamic philosophy</p>\n<p>Jewish philosophy</p>\n<p>Latin American philosophy</p>\n<p>Non-Western ethics</p>\n<p>Non-Western political philosophy</p>\n<p>Philosophy of disability</p>\n<p>Philosophy of immigration</p>\n<p>Philosophy of neurodiversity</p>\n<p>Philosophy of racePhilosophy of religion in non-Western traditions</p>\n<p>Queer and trans philosophy</p>\n<p>Other non-listed understudied figures\, texts\, or traditions in ancient\, medieval\, modern\, or contemporary philosophy</p>\n<p>Submissions may be historical\, comparative\, constructive\, critical\, or interdisciplinary in&nbsp\;approach. Papers that place understudied or underrepresented traditions in conversation with&nbsp\;ethics\, political philosophy\, metaphysics\, epistemology\, aesthetics\, philosophy of religion\,&nbsp\;philosophy of mind\, philosophy of language\, social and political philosophy\, or other major areas&nbsp\;of philosophy are especially welcome.</p>\n<p><strong>Format</strong></p>\n<p>Each graduate student speaker will have a one-hour session\, structured as follows:</p>\n<p><strong>30 minutes</strong>&nbsp\;for presentation</p>\n<p><strong>10 minutes</strong>&nbsp\;for commentary</p>\n<p><strong>5 minutes</strong>&nbsp\;for speaker response</p>\n<p><strong>15 minutes</strong>&nbsp\;for general Q&amp\;A</p>\n<p>Selected presenters will be asked to submit a full paper version of their talk in advance so that&nbsp\;commentators can prepare their responses. Full papers should be no more than&nbsp\;<strong>5\,000 words</strong>\,&nbsp\;excluding notes and bibliography\, and should be suitable for a 30-minute presentation.</p>\n<p>The conference will also include a keynote lecture and keynote Q&amp\;A.</p>\n<p><strong>Submission Guidelines</strong></p>\n<p>Please submit an anonymized abstract of&nbsp\;<strong>up to 750 words</strong>&nbsp\;prepared for blind review.
