DESCRIPTION:<p>This call for papers invites contributions to the Special Issue &ldquo\;Beyond Diagnostic Boundaries: Mentalizing\, Theory of Mind\, and Cognitive Heterogeneity in Neurodevelopmental Conditions\,&rdquo\; to be published in <em>Reti\, saperi\, linguaggi &ndash\; Italian Journal of Cognitive Sciences</em>\, a prestigious international peer-reviewed journal indexed in Scopus and Web of Science&ndash\;ESCI.</p>\n<p>The Special Issue will explore mentalizing and Theory of Mind across neurodevelopmental conditions\, with particular attention to cognitive heterogeneity within and across diagnostic categories. We welcome empirical\, theoretical\, methodological\, and review contributions addressing topics such as autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions\, individual differences in social cognition\, language and interaction\, embodied and ecological approaches to mentalizing\, and innovative assessment methods.</p>\n<p>Researchers interested in contributing should send a <strong>provisional title and a 300&ndash\;400-word abstract to <a href="mailto:paola.pennisi@unime.it">paola.pennisi@unime.it</a> by 18 October 2026</strong>. Preliminary decisions will be communicated by 2 November 2026. The <strong>deadline for full manuscripts is 30 May 2027</strong>\, with publication expected in July 2027.</p>\n<p>Manuscripts in English are especially encouraged. There are no submission or publication fees.</p>
