DESCRIPTION:<p>Call for Submissions</p>\n<p>Heidegger Circle</p>\n<p>https://heidegger-circle.org</p>\n<p>Cincinnati\, Ohio\, May 14-16\, 2027</p>\n<p><strong>Deadline: January 15\, 2027</strong></p>\n<p>The 61st meeting of the Heidegger Circle will be hosted by Xavier University at the 21c Museum Hotel in downtown Cincinnati\, with a rotating exhibit of contemporary art\, next door to the Contemporary Arts Center\, designed by architect Zaha Hadid. Registration will include a cocktail reception on May 13\, breakfasts\, and snacks. An optional banquet will be held nearby.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>We invite panels and papers on any aspect of Martin Heidegger&rsquo\;s thought\, but we are especially interested in these topics:</p>\n<p>The 100th anniversary of&nbsp\;<em>Being and Time:&nbsp\;</em>Fresh perspectives on Heidegger&rsquo\;s masterwork as it enters its second century</p>\n<p>Heidegger and contemporary art: How is Heidegger&rsquo\;s thought illustrated or challenged by 21st-century art (including literature)?</p>\n<p><strong>Panels</strong>&nbsp\;include 2-4 presentations of about 10 minutes each on a topic. Panel proposals should include (a) the panel title and a 150-word description of the topic\, and (b) a title and a 150-word abstract for each panelist&rsquo\;s contribution. These proposals should be prepared for blind review with a separate cover sheet listing panelists&rsquo\; names\, emails\, titles of their presentations\, and affiliations if applicable.</p>\n<p><strong>Papers</strong>&nbsp\;should be limited to a reading time of 20-30 minutes (about 2500-4000 words). They should be prepared for blind review. Accepted papers may be assigned a commentator who will speak for 5 minutes.</p>\n<p>Some financial assistance is available for graduate students whose submissions are accepted. In addition\, two awards of $500 and $250 are offered to graduate students or recent Ph.D.s (last 3 years) whose accepted submissions of about 4000 words discuss women\, sex\, and/or gender\; authors should indicate their interest in these awards.</p>\n<p>Submissions will be peer reviewed. Accepted papers and panel abstracts will be included in the conference proceedings. All authors who submit papers to the Heidegger Circle meeting are also welcome to submit versions of them to our peer-reviewed\, open-access journal\,&nbsp\;<em>Gatherings: The Heidegger Circle Annual</em>.</p>\n<p>Send questions\, panel proposals\, and paper submissions to Richard Polt at&nbsp\;polt@xavier.edu.</p>
