Australia is at the centre of this shift. In 2020\, Monash University established the country's first dedicated psychedelic research lab. In 2023\, the Therapeutic Goods Administration created a regulated pathway for authorised psychiatrists to prescribe MDMA and psilocybin\, making Australia one of the first countries to formalise clinical access to psychedelic-assisted therapy outside of clinical trials.

Multiple groups across the Asia-Pacific are now conducting world-first and world-class psychedelic research\, assessing implementation in real-world clinics\, asking questions across a diverse array of disciplines\, manufacturing psychedelic compounds in novel ways\, shaping novel policy\, and developing psychedelic practice.

CAPS27 builds on that foundation. It's a forum for researchers\, clinicians\, policymakers\, ethicists\, cultural scholars\, educators\, industry leaders\, and funders to meet\, share evidence\, build collaborations\, and advance the field together.
