DESCRIPTION:<p>Logic and AI: An Interdisciplinary Approach</p>\n<p>We invite contributions to the edited volume <em>Logic and AI: An Interdisciplinary Approach</em>\, which has received preliminary approval from <em>Springer</em>.</p>\n<p>The volume&nbsp\; aims to bring together researchers working in logic broadly construed\, computer science\, philosophy of AI\, philosophy of language\, epistemology\, ethics\, and related fields to investigate the conceptual foundations and broader implications of contemporary artificial intelligence.</p>\n<p>We are particularly interested in questions of normativity: how standards of correctness\, reasoning\, judgment\, agency\, and appropriate action are established\, followed\, transformed\, or challenged by AI systems. We welcome contributions that establish a dialogue between formal and philosophical approaches\, as well as those examining how AI interacts with normative criteria within human practices.</p>\n<p>Topics</p>\n<p>Possible topics include\, but are not limited to:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Between Logic and Probability: How Does AI Reason?</li>\n<li>Rules or Patterns? Rethinking Reasoning in AI</li>\n<li>Naming the World: Objects\, Language\, and Logic</li>\n<li>From Grammar to Ethics: What Makes an AI Answer Right?</li>\n<li>Beyond Inference: AI and the Limits of Human Judgment</li>\n<li>Intelligence Without a Body: Language\, Context\, and Experience</li>\n<li>When AI Becomes an Authority: Knowledge\, Trust\, and Normativity</li>\n<li>When AI Changes the Rules: Technology and Human Practices</li>\n<li>Intention\, Will\, and Artificial Agency</li>\n</ul>\n<p>These themes are intended as points of departure rather than restrictions. We welcome proposals that introduce other approaches to the relationship between logic\, AI\, reasoning\, language\, normativity\, agency and human practices.</p>\n<p>Submission of Proposals</p>\n<p>Prospective contributors are invited to submit:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>A tentative chapter title</li>\n<li>An abstract of approximately 300&ndash\;500 words</li>\n<li>3&ndash\;5 keywords</li>\n<li>A short author biography\, including institutional affiliation</li>\n<li>Contact information</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Abstracts should clearly indicate the central question or argument of the proposed chapter and explain its relevance to the overall theme of the volume.</p>\n<p>Following the review of proposals\, selected authors will be invited to submit a full chapter.
