DESCRIPTION:<p>The International Social Ontology Society annual conference</p>\n<p>The conference will be held in person in the Music Building on the campus of Ohio State University\, Columbus\, Ohio USA from July 27-30 (free air-conditioning). &nbsp\;</p>\n<p><strong>First Announcement</strong></p>\n<p><strong><strong>Social Ontology &amp\; Collective Intentionality 2027\, an interdisciplinary conference on social ontology.&nbsp\;</strong><br></strong></p>\n<p>Abstracts of 300-500 words (prepared for anonymous review) should be submitted through EasyChair starting in mid-October. &nbsp\;A link will be posted here soon.</p>\n<p>Deadline for submission: January 11.</p>\n<p>Notification of acceptance: February 15.</p>\n<p><strong>For Junior Scholars:</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Essay Prize:</strong></p>\n<p>Junior scholars (in graduate school or received PhD within 5 years of the closing date) are eligible for the ISOS Philosophy Essay Prize for Young Scholars. The prize includes an invitation to present as a keynote at Social Ontology 2027\, publication in the&nbsp\;<em>Journal of Social Ontology</em>\, and a &euro\;500 award.</p>\n<p>For further details and guidelines\, see the Essay Prize call for papers on this website.</p>\n<p><strong>Summer School: Social Ontology</strong></p>\n<p>Junior scholars will also have the opportunity when submitting to signal an interest/desire to participate in a day-long summer school session before the conference on July 26th. &nbsp\;&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><strong>The conference</strong></p>\n<p>Topics include\, but are not limited to:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Approaches to the metaphysics of the social world</li>\n<li>Collective intentions\, shared agency\, and group action</li>\n<li>Collective and distributed responsibility</li>\n<li>The nature of institutions\, firms\, and corporations</li>\n<li>Metaphysics of race and gender</li>\n<li>Metaphysics of money and markets</li>\n<li>Nature of law and legal applications of social ontology</li>\n<li>Ontological aspects of critical social theory</li>\n<li>Social Ontology and Normative Theory</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Interdisciplinary contributions are encouraged!&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><strong>Keynotes by:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kirk Ludwig\, Ruth N.
