DESCRIPTION:
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
\n
CONCEPTS IN CONVERSATION: CANON AND COSMOS
\n
Rethinking Philosophical Knowledge across Traditions\, Cultures and Worlds
\n
22&ndash\;24 February 2027
\n
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
\n
Philosophy is not a single\, unified tradition. What counts as philosophical knowledge has been shaped by languages\, cultures\, institutions\, histories\, and forms of intellectual authority. At the same time\, philosophy reaches toward the cosmos: nature\, consciousness\, humanity\, time\, space\, life\, and the unknown. This conference asks what happens when different conceptual worlds encounter one another.
\n
Concepts such as self\, consciousness\, reality\, reason\, knowledge\, truth\, freedom\, justice\, personhood\, and liberation appear across traditions\, but they do not necessarily mean the same thing. Their differences can become sources of conceptual transformation and renewal. The conference therefore seeks to move from a fixed canon toward an open cosmos of concepts in conversation.
\n
WHY CONCEPTS IN CONVERSATION
\n
Concepts travel across languages\, civilizations\, religions\, historical periods\, disciplines\, political boundaries\, and technologies.In doing so\, they change.
\n
Translation transforms.
\n
Encounter transforms.
\n
Context transforms.
\n
Even misunderstanding can transform.
\n
The aim is not to erase differences or impose an artificial synthesis\, but to create a space in which traditions can listen\, question\, disagree\, reinterpret\, and transform one another.
\n
&nbsp\;MAJOR THEMES AND SUB-THEMES
\n
I.
