The Eighth Annual Conference of the European Academy of Religion was held in \;Vienna\, Austria\, \;and was organized by \;the \;Religion and Transformation in Contemporary Society \;at the \;University of Vienna.
\n\nThe overarching theme of the conference was &ldquo\;Religion and Socio-Cultural Transformation: European Perspectives and Beyond&ldquo\;\, and 6 keynote lectures were invited to speak about the topic from their original point of view: \;Franz Fischler \;(Former EU Commissioner and President of the European Forum Alpbach)\, Grace Davie \;(Emeritus Professor at the University of Exeter)\, Isabella Guanzini \;(Professor at the Catholic Private University of Linz)\, Rik Torfs \;(Emeritus Professor at KU Leuven)\, Tariq Modood \;(Professor at the University of Bristol)\, Hans Schelkshorn \;(Professor at the University of Vienna).
