DESCRIPTION:
15th Principia International Symposium
\n
Theme: The metaphysics of science
\n
July 19 to 22\, 2027\, Florian&oacute\;polis\, Brazil
\n
Deadline for submissions: February 20\, 2027
\n\n
THEME
\n
The field of &ldquo\;metaphysics of science&rdquo\; is relatively new in philosophy. While early 20th-century philosophy of science largely rejected the phrase as ill-formed\, the 21st century is witnessing a blossoming of literature on this topic. Nowadays\, the metaphysics of science stands as a legitimate branch of both metaphysics and philosophy of science that has specific topics and problems of its own. On the one hand\, metaphysics of science typically uses science as a ground for metaphysical theorizing\, thereby contributing new perspectives to metaphysics\; on the other hand\, it has prospects of contributing to the philosophy of science by expanding the science-based worldview based on broadly metaphysical theorization.
\n&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;
