This conference aims to explore the relationship between reason and revelation through the various lenses of philosophy\, theology\, literature\, political philosophy\, and the human sciences generally. Related topics include but are not limited to:</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Faith and reason</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Rationalism and the imagination</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; The reception of philosophy in Christianity\, Judaism\, and Islam</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Natural law and divine law</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Reason and revelation in the Catholic tradition</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Modern philosophy&rsquo\;s relationship to (appropriation or rejection of?) revelation</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Political theology and political philosophy</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Claims of particularity in philosophy\, politics\, and religion</p>\n<p>We invite scholars working in the liberal arts to submit <strong>abstracts of no more than 500 words</strong> that consider the relationship between reason and revelation from the perspective of their discipline or through an interdisciplinary approach. Preference will be given to papers conversant with the great texts of the Western tradition. The conference committee will invite select authors to publish their essays in a special online edition of&nbsp\;<em>Ramify: The Journal of the Braniff Graduate School of Liberal Arts</em></p>\n<p>Submit abstracts to <a href="mailto:udbgsaconference@gmail.com">udbgsaconference@gmail.com</a>. Abstracts should be prepared for blind review. Please include a separate cover letter with your name\, paper title\, email address\, and institutional affiliation.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><strong>Abstracts are due no later than Monday\, November 17\, 2014. </strong>Presenters will be asked to submit conference-length papers suitable for a 15 minute presentation (no more than 2500 words) by December 31\, 2014.&nbsp\;</p>
