DESCRIPTION:
Mind Meaning and Rationality group seminar December 3rd
\n\n\n\n
Dr Joseph Schear (Christ Church\, Oxford) will be giving a talk on &lsquo\;Domesticating Rationality&rsquo\;
\n\n\n\n
Abstract
\n\n\n\n
&lsquo\;I will consider various strategies for explaining our capacity for rationality\, understood as responsiveness to reasons\, in naturalistic\, but nonetheless non-reductive\, terms. I will offer some reasons for enthusiasm about such a project\, and then offer some reasons for skepticism that any of the strategies I consider will ultimately be satisfying.&rsquo\;
\n\n\n\n
The seminar will take place at 2.30 pm at Walton Hall in Wilson A\, Meeting Room 5. (Please note that the start time is a little later than usual.)
\n\n\n
All are very welcome.
