DESCRIPTION:<p>The Nature and Origins of Human Cognition<br> Berlin School of Mind and Brain in cooperation with the Center for Mind\,<br> Brain and Cognitive Evolution (Ruhr-Universit&auml\;t Bochum)" 18th &ndash\;19th June 2015</p>\n<p>Poster submission deadline: January 15th 2015<br> (Notifications: February 15th 2015)</p>\n<p>The Berlin School of Mind and Brain &ndash\; in cooperation with the Center for<br> Mind\, Brain and Cognitive Evolution (Ruhr-Universit&auml\;t Bochum) &ndash\; is pleased<br> to announce the Nature and Origins of Human Cognition conference\, to be held<br> at the Berlin School of Mind and Brain on 18th &ndash\;19th June 2015.<br> <br> The goal of the conference will be to examine the nature of cognition\, with<br> particular respect to its developmental stages in ontogeny and phylogeny.<br> <br> Confirmed keynotes are Elizabeth Spelke (Harvard University)\, Elliot Sober<br> (University of Wisconsin)\, Michael Tomasello (Max Planck Institute for<br> Evolutionary Anthropology).<br> <br> There will also be four further symposia on related themes:<br> (1)&nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\;Continuity and Discontinuity (Cameron Buckner &amp\; Colin Allen)<br> (2)&nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\;Core Cognition (Stephen Butterfill &amp\; Christophe Heintz)<br> (3)&nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\;From Skillful Action to Reflective Thinking (Ellen Fridland &amp\; John Sutton)<br> (4)&nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\;Meta-representation (Jo&euml\;lle Proust &amp\; Richard Moore)</p>\n<p>We welcome submissions for poster presentations on any of the four topics<br> listed above. Complete posters will be preferred\, but abstract submissions<br> are also invited.<br> <br> How to submit a poster:<br> (1) While we prefer to receive full poster submissions\, 500-word poster<br> abstracts will be also be considered.
