DESCRIPTION:<p>CALL FOR ABSTRACTS for Mind\, Value and Mental Health: An International One-Day Conference in<br> Philosophy and Psychiatry\, July 2015<br> <br> Date Saturday July 25th 2015<br> <br> Venue St.Hilda&rsquo\;s College\, University of Oxford<br> <br> Speakers<br> Dr. Rachel Cooper (Lancaster)<br> Professor Owen Flanagan (Duke)<br> Professor Gerrit Glas (Amsterdam)<br> Professor Kia Nobre (Oxford)<br> <br> We are seeking 300 word abstract submissions from graduate students\, recently completed PhDs\, and postdocs for this international one-day conference which is scheduled to follow Mind\, Value and Mental Health: 2nd Oxford Summer School in Philosophy and Psychiatry. Abstracts may be on any topic within the philosophy of mental health and mental illness. Submissions drawing on clinical and/or personal experience\, as well as submissions of a purely theoretical nature\, are welcome. If accepted the papers should be suitable for a 20 minute presentation (approx. 3000 words) with 10 minutes for discussion.<br> <br> The deadline for submission is March 15th 2015.&nbsp\; Please submit your 300 word abstract for blind review\, along with your CV including institutional affiliation to <a href="mailto:elianna.fetterolf@philosophy.ox.ac.uk">elianna.fetterolf@philosophy.ox.ac.uk</a><br> <br> Notification of accepted submissions will be sent out by April 17th 2015.<br> <br> Limited funds may be available to support some expenses for successful applicants. Further details will be provided once the programme has been finalised</p>\n\n<p>***</p>\n<p>Mind\, Value and Mental Health: Philosophy and Psychiatry Summer School and<br>Conference<br><br>23 &ndash\; 25 July 2015: St Hilda&rsquo\;s College\, University of Oxford<br><br>It is with great pleasure that we announce two linked events comprising:<br>&bull\; a two-day summer school offering opportunities for substantial dialogue<br>between philosophers\, scientists and mental health practitioners<br>&bull\; a one-day conference delivered by renowned experts in the field through<br>keynote lectures<br><br>Presented by the Faculty of Philosophy and the Department for Continuing<br>Education\, these events will explore the areas in which the philosophy of<br>mind and ethics or the philosophy of value come into contact with issues<br>about mental health.<br><br>2nd Oxford Summer School<br>23&ndash\;24 July 2015<br>Delivered by renowned experts in the field through guest lectures and<br>seminars\, and providing opportunities for substantial dialogue between<br>philosophers\, scientists and mental health practitioners.
