One view of the nature of truth has it that it is a very thin notion\, perhaps even a superfluous notion. According to another view\, truth is a very thick notion. For example\, one might think that every truth is a truth because it has a truth-maker\, a ground. But what is a ground? The notion of grounding is intimately linked to the notion of explanation. Many think that a theory of grounding is required to understand the notion of truth-making and so\, it is argued\, truth. The conference aims to explore theories of truth\, or of grounding\, or of their relation to one another.

VENUE
The conference will be held at the Centro Stefano Franscini\, Monte Verit&agrave\; in Ascona\, Switzerland\, a resort on Lake Maggiore\, which serves as the meeting platform of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Zurich. http://www.csf.ethz.ch

PROVISIONAL LIST OF INVITED SPEAKERS
The provisional list of confirmed speakers includes: Fabrice Correia (Neuch&acirc\;tel)\, Kit Fine (NYU)\, Paul Horwich (NYU)\, Stephan Kraemer (Hamburg)\, Fraser Macbride (Glasgow)\, Benjamin Schnieder (Hamburg)\, Alex Skiles (Neuch&acirc\;tel)\, Peter Simons (Dublin).

Please direct any questions to the conference organizers at damiano.costa@unine.ch
