DESCRIPTION:<p><a name="_GoBack"></a>This interdisciplinary symposium will feature philosophers\, legal scholars\, and political theorists. The morning sessions will address The Changing Means of Waging War and will focus specifically on the practice of targeted killing by means of drones. &nbsp\;Each scholar will address this novel and controversial means of fighting war from their disciplinary standpoint: International Law\, Ethics\, and International Relations. Afterward\, they will engage with one another and the audience in an open roundtable discussion of the topic.</p>\n<p>The afternoon sessions will address the challenges to peace in the 21st Century. &nbsp\;What might&nbsp\;peace\, especially sustainable peace\, look like in this era?&nbsp\;The scholars will examine systemic and localized peacebuilding as well as the challenges to peace through new sources of conflict and instability.</p>\n<p>Adelphi University is easily reached by taking the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) to Nassau Blvd.</p>
