DESCRIPTION:<p>The general theme of the conference is to explore a Wittgensteinian&nbsp\;approach to the interplay between philosophical method\, pedagogy in&nbsp\;general and philosophy of education.<br><br>Teaching and various forms of instruction\, training and learning are&nbsp\;recurrent themes in the writings of Ludwig Wittgenstein\, making his&nbsp\;philosophy a rich source for our understanding of the relationship between&nbsp\;education and learning. Moreover\, Wittgenstein&rsquo\;s work is an increasing&nbsp\;influence in debates within the philosophy of education\, especially in&nbsp\;questions concerning the pedagogies of philosophy\, therapeutic and&nbsp\;dialogical methods in education\, the role of practice for learning and&nbsp\;discussions of the respective contribution to education from philosophy&nbsp\;and empirical research.</p>\n<p><strong>PhD Session</strong></p>\n<p>At least one of the sessions (depending on number of participants) will be&nbsp\;reserved for presentations from PHD students. Prof. Paul Standish will&nbsp\;participate in the discussions of the presentations.</p>\n<p><strong>Call for Papers</strong><br><br>We invite researchers and PhD-students\, inside and outside of philosophy&nbsp\;(e.g. education and pedagogy) to submit abstracts on Wittgenstein-inspired&nbsp\;inquiries into questions related to the theme of the conference (max 400&nbsp\;words). All submissions will be subject to a peer review. Each speaker&nbsp\;will be allotted 20 minutes for presentation and 20 minutes for&nbsp\;discussion.<br><br>Possible topics include: The relevance of Wittgenstein&rsquo\;s philosophy for:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>The pedagogies of philosophy</li>\n<li>The philosophy of education</li>\n<li>The role of training and initiation into a practice in education</li>\n<li>The relationship between education and therapy</li>\n<li>Moral education</li>\n<li>Educating for critical thinking</li>\n<li>Methods in education</li>\n<li>The distinction between empirical and philosophical research in&nbsp\;education</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br>In case of adequate funding\, the conference will reimburse part of the&nbsp\;travel expenses for speakers whose papers are accepted.&nbsp\;Submission should be send to Anne-Marie S.
