In the last decade\, there has been a surge of interest in the epistemological literature in the question regarding what\, if any\, epistemic norms govern certain actions or mental states. This conference aims to shed light on:

  1. Foundational issues: Are there epistemic norms governing our habits of belief-formation\, assertion and action? \; If yes\, what is their structure and what is the source of their authority?
    2. \n
  2. Issues pertaining to how the epistemic norms in question might interact with each other and/or other normative requirements such as\, for instance\, prudential or moral constraints.
    3. \n
  3. Topics related to the impact of the results in research on epistemic normativity on other debates in epistemology: How do various epistemic norms put forth in the literature help to shed light on central epistemological issues like the internalism-externalism debate about epistemic justification or the invariantism-contextualism debate about knowledge attributions?

Attendance is free of charge. However\, participants are requested to register by sending an email to mona.simion@hiw.kuleuven.be by 15.9.2015.

There will be two conference dinners (9.11 and 10.11.) and three conference lunches (9.11. &ndash\; 11.11.). The estimated costs for these meals are as follows:

3 Lunches (9.11. &ndash\; 11.11.): EUR 30
Dinner (9.11.): EUR 45
Dinner (10.11.): EUR 70

We would like to ask participants to let us know at the time of registration which of the conference meals\, if any\, they would like to attend.
