UID:20260413T001055Z-iCalPlugin-Grails@philevents-web-f5d4878dd-dnjxp
TZID:Europe/Berlin
LOCATION:Habelschwerdter Allee 30\, Berlin\, Germany\, 14195
DESCRIPTION:
The neoliberal transition towards a transnational organization of sciences\, as we witness nowadays for example in the European Union\, confronts philosophy with several new questions: the specific impact of this trend in philosophical theories\, the social conditions of its fulfillment or failure\, the ways it can be reflected or criticized from a philosophical perspective.
\n
The global circulation of philosophical texts\, theories and concepts trough digitalization\, the international standardization of curricula and credit systems\, the transnational organization of the politics of knowledge seem to lead to a blurring of borders between national philosophical traditions thus stimulating the development of a universally accessible philosophical language and field of vision. The other side of a globalized philosophy is the relocation\, reproduction and multiplication of political\, ethnic\, gender and disciplinary boundaries. Global trends can marginalize or exclude certain epistemic subjects and cultures. They can constrain the philosophical knowledge into models and criteria proper to the natural sciences.
\n
The conference will discuss the challenges and the risks of philosophy in a globalized world from a methodological\, an empirical historical and a theoretical point of view.
