DESCRIPTION:
The Ryerson Philosophy Graduate Student Union is pleased to announce a call for papers for its annual conference. The topic of this year&rsquo\;s conference will be metaphilosophy.
\n
We are interested in exploring a wide variety of topics that in some way reflect upon the discipline of philosophy as such. Paper topics may address\, but are not limited to: questions concerning the foundation\, scope\, methods\, purpose\, and future trajectory of philosophy\; the evolution of philosophy\; philosophy&rsquo\;s place in the workforce and everyday life\; philosophy&rsquo\;s relation to other disciplines\; the role philosophy has (or doesn&rsquo\;t have) to play in social and political action\; the nature of the continental/analytic divide\; the environment in which philosophy takes place.
\n
We recognize that metaphilosophy is not an area of research in which many are inclined to see themselves as actively involved\, however\, we understand metaphilosophy very broadly. Accordingly\, we accept contributions from all areas of research.
\n
The keynote speaker for this event will be Dr. Maudemarie Clark. Her talk will be on &ldquo\;Nietzsche on the Nature of Philosophy&rdquo\;.
\n
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: December 20th\, 2015
\n
Please E-Mail a copy of the presentation paper to Kristian Piraino: kpiraino@ryerson.ca. Papers should be somewhere in the vicinity of 2\,500 &ndash\; 3\, 250 words and should not exceed 20 minutes in presentation length.
