DESCRIPTION:<p>The Department of Philosophy at the University of Nebraska &ndash\; Lincoln is hosting a conference on Practical Reason and Metaethics as part of its annual Robert R. Chambers conference series.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;The invited speakers on the conference program are:</p>\n<p>&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Michael Bratman (Stanford)</p>\n<p>&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Stephen Darwall (Yale)</p>\n<p>&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Sarah McGrath (Princeton)</p>\n<p>&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Sigr&uacute\;n Svavarsd&oacute\;ttir (Tufts)</p>\n<p>The remaining four papers on the conference program will be selected though an anonymous review of submissions.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;For each paper selected\, the Department will contribute up to $800 to cover the travel and accommodations of the authors.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;(We will also invite people to chair sessions\, but unfortunately do not have funds available to cover their travel or accommodations.)</p>\n<p>Please submit&nbsp\;<strong>both</strong>&nbsp\;a full paper suitable for a 45-minute presentation (approximately 5\,000-6\,000 words\, by our estimate) and a medium-length abstract (approximately 300-500 words) on any topic within the domain of practical reason and metaethics.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Please ensure that the paper and abstract are formatted and redacted for anonymous review.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Papers and abstracts should be sent to&nbsp\;<u>nebraskaphilosophyconference@gmail.com</u>.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;(<strong>To assure anonymity please do not submit them to John or Mark</strong>.)&nbsp\;&nbsp\;We will get back to you with a decision by the end of January at the latest.&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Deadline for submissions is December 1\, 2015.</p>\n<p>Questions about the conference can be directed to its organizers\, John Brunero (jbrunero2@unl.edu) and Mark van Roojen (mvr@unl.edu). &nbsp\;(If you have a question that could potentially compromise the anonymous review procedure\, please direct it to&nbsp\;nebraskaphilosophyconference@gmail.com.)</p>
