DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>Abstract (Engl.)</strong></p>\n<p>Badiou&rsquo\;s philosophy has received much acclaim for the rigorous and systematic unfolding of his theory. But the French philosopher has even received more critique because of his radicalism. Is Badiou&rsquo\;s oeuvre not undermining the value of political representation via the state? Badiou&rsquo\;s political philosophy seems too radical for being taken seriously in practical philosophy and legal theory. Does Badiou condemn the state in general? What role does the state play in Badiou&rsquo\;s own adherence to Marxism and / or Maoism? How can his philosophy be compared to theories of the state in classical political and practical philosophy? What is the relation of his thought compared to fellow philosophers of his generation\, like Deleuze\, Lefort\, Legendre\, Negri\, Rancie?re or Z?iz?ek? The conference &ldquo\;Badiou and the State&rdquo\; is dedicated to these questions that Badiou&rsquo\;s philosophy provokes. (Languages: German and English)</p>\n<p><strong>Abstract (dt.)</strong></p>\n<p>Alain Badious Werk&nbsp\;vereinigt Universalit&auml\;t und Illegalit&auml\;t als gleichurspr&uuml\;ngliche Momente des Normativen in seiner Theorie des Ereignisses. Damit pr&auml\;gt er brisante zeitgen&ouml\;ssische Debatten zu den Grenzen demokratischer und diskursiver Vernunft\, zur Aktualit&auml\;t der kommunistischen Idee und zum Recht auf politische Militanz. Die Konferenz widmet sich diesen Themen mit einem besonderen Bezug der Verh&auml\;ltnisbestimmung von Badious Philosophie zum Staatsverst&auml\;ndnis. Lehnt Badiou generell den Staat ab? Staat wird hier verstanden im weiten Sinne als eine Form politischer Repr&auml\;sentation. Welche Bedeutung spielt der Staat innerhalb Badious eigener Empf&auml\;nglichkeit fu?r Marxismus und / oder Maoismus? In welchem Verh&auml\;ltnis steht sein Werk zur Tradition philosophischer Staatstheorien (z.B. derjenigen Hegels) und wie zum Staats- und Politikverst&auml\;ndnis seiner Kollegen und Mitstreiter wie Deleuze\, Lefort\, Legendre\, Milner\, Negri\, Rancie?re und Z?iz?ek?
