DESCRIPTION:<p>In May 2016 we are organizing the first colloquium (out of two planned)\, <em>Enlightenment and Secularism\,</em> related to the topics of our research project on&nbsp\;<em>Enlightenment\, Secularism and the Freedom of Conscience.</em><em>&nbsp\;</em></p>\n<p>The colloquium aims at bringing together philosophers\, historians of philosophy and postdoctoral students to discuss the&nbsp\;ideas of and arguments for the freedom of thought and conscience formulated by the early modern and Enlightenment thinkers\, the historical and philosophical background of those arguments\, and their relation to current debates on secularism.</p>\n<p>Everyone interested in participating in the colloquium without presenting is welcome to attend.
