DESCRIPTION:<p>The philosophy departments of Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin will host the annual Dublin Graduate Philosophy Conference. The keynote speakers will be Dr. Ralf Bader from the University of Oxford and Dr. Alice Pinheiro Walla from Trinity College Dublin. This conference aims to explore questions on the subject of value as well as general metaethical questions surrounding Kant&rsquo\;s moral theory\, broadly construed. We cordially invite graduate students and those who have recently submitted their PhD working in relevant or related fields to submit their work for presentation during the conference. <br> </p>\n<p>The following is a non-exhaustive list of suggested topics:</p>\n<p><br> &bull\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Moral Constructivist vs. Realist Interpretations of Kant&rsquo\;s Moral Theory</p>\n<p>&bull\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Naturalist vs. Non-naturalist Interpretations of Kant&rsquo\;s Moral Theory</p>\n<p>&bull\;&nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\;Kant and Moral Psychology</p>\n<p>&bull\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Kant and Moral Reasons<br> &bull\;&nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\;Kant&rsquo\;s Moral Epistemology\, and Epistemological issues within Kant&rsquo\;s Moral Theory<br> &bull\;&nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\;Kant and the Source of Normativity<br> &bull\;&nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\;Kant&rsquo\;s Conception of Value\, and its metaethical bearings on Kant&rsquo\;s Moral Theory</p>\n<p>&bull\;&nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; Kant&rsquo\;s Conception of Happiness and The Highest Good\, and their relevance to his Moral&nbsp\;Theory<br> &bull\;&nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\;The metaethical relevance of Kant&rsquo\;s Transcendental Idealism to his Moral Theory</p>\n\n<p>Papers should be suitable for a 30-minute presentation (around 3000-4000 words in length). Please submit an abstract of no more than 1000 words in .doc/.docx or .pdf format (omitting personal information)\, and an additional cover letter with the title of your paper\, affiliation and contact details\, to <u><a href="mailto:dublinphilosophygradconf2016@gmail.com">dublinphilosophygradconf2016@gmail.com</a></u>. The deadline for submission is the 16th of January 2015.</p>
