DESCRIPTION:<p>As part of our ongoing partnership with&nbsp\;Wesleyan Animal Studies (home of our annual summer fellowship)\, the ASI and WAS have begun an annual undergraduate prize competition for students pursuing research in&nbsp\;Human-Animal Studies.<br><br>The award will recognize an outstanding original theoretical or empirical scholarly work that advances the field of HAS. Papers must be 4\,000-7\,000 words long and may come from any undergraduate discipline in the humanities\, social sciences or natural sciences.<br><br>The winning paper will be published in the&nbsp\;Society &amp\; Animals journal\; runners up will get honorable mentions and have their abstracts published in S&amp\;A. All three winners will receive a book of their choice from the ASI&rsquo\;s&nbsp\;Human-Animal Studies Book Series (published by Brill).<br><br>The submission deadline is Aug. 1\; for complete details see:</p>
