DESCRIPTION:<p>CFP: &ldquo\;Rationality\, Probability\, and Pragmatics&rdquo\; (ZAS Berlin\, May 25-27\, 2016)</p>\n<p>CALL FOR PAPERS</p>\n<p>This international workshop brings together linguists\, philosophers\, and psychologists to study interactions among rationality frameworks\, uncertainty\, pragmatic phenomena\, and cognition. The aim is to critically discuss how recent psychological and philosophical theories of rational reasoning and experimental pragmatics can benefit from each other. Specifically\, the goals of the workshop include (but are not limited):</p>\n<p>1) to identify and discuss phenomena of common interest such as conditional sentences<br>2) to identify common theoretical issues such as coherence\, prior likelihoods in iterated models\, or probabilistic explanations of pragmatic phenomena<br>3) to debate the advantages/disadvantages of different formal approaches used for both reasoning and pragmatics.</p>\n<p>The workshop will consist of two half days with four invited talks each and one day with submitted papers and posters.</p>\n<p>Invited Speakers:</p>\n<p>Guy Politzer\, Paris<br>Mike Oaksford\, London<br>Niki Pfeifer\, M&uuml\;nchen<br>Ralph Hertwig\, Berlin<br>Ira Noveck\, Lyon<br>Nicole Gotzner &amp\; Anton Benz\, Berlin<br>Michael Franke\, T&uuml\;bingen<br>Jesse Snedeker\, Harvard (t.b.c.)</p>\n<p>Submissions:</p>\n<p>We invite submissions for 25 minute (+ 15 minutes for questions) talks and for poster presentations. Abstracts should be one page (letter or A4 paper size\, 11 pt font\, 1 inch/2.5 cm margins) long with an additional page for figures\, tables\, formulas\, examples\, and references.
