DESCRIPTION:<p>Dispositions or powers have played a prominent but changing role in the history of philosophy\, going from a role as explanantia or explainers of a great range of phenomena in Aristotle to being a phenomenon much in need of explanation in early modern times. In contemporary philosophy\, dispositions or powers have risen to great prominence again\, and are now invoked to explain such diverse phenomena as laws of nature\, modality\, free will\, and beauty. The aim of the workshop is to bring together philosophers who work on dispositions in many different areas\, both historically and systematically.</p>
