DESCRIPTION:<p>The conference plans to cover both topics specific to legal philosophy and broader issues connected to collective intentionality and normativity.&nbsp\;The main topics of interest include\, but are not restricted to:</p>\n<p><strong><em>Collective intentions and normativity</em></strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>How do norms of &ldquo\;social rationality&rdquo\; contribute to constitute a social group or a society?</li>\n<li>What is the normative status of these social norms? Do they have moral import?</li>\n<li>How do individual attitudes &ndash\; beliefs\, desires\, and intentions &ndash\; interplay with collective attitudes?</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><em>Collective intentions and judicial decision-making</em></strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>What is the role of collective intentionality in the application of the law? How does it affect the judicial function?</li>\n<li>How do we account&nbsp\;for&nbsp\;collegiate judicial decision-making?</li>\n<li>How should member&rsquo\;s of collegiate courts decide &ldquo\;together&rdquo\;?</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The format of the conference is pre-read. Papers will be circulated in advance. Each session will start with a very short presentation by the author (approx. 30&nbsp\;minutes). A commentator will then kick-off discussion\, the author will respond to the comments\, and then the remainder of the session will be dedicated to Q&amp\;A. Applicants should submit an&nbsp\;abstract of no more than 1000 words\, where the main claim and arguments included in the paper are made clear.</p>\n<p><strong>Deadline for submissions:</strong>&nbsp\;April 25th\, 2016.</p>\n<p><strong>Decisions</strong>&nbsp\;will be made by May 20th\, 2016.</p>\n<p><strong>Drafts of the accepted papers must be delivered by August 15th.</strong></p>
