DESCRIPTION:<p>Florida currently has the third largest homeless population in the country\, but resources for assistance &ndash\; both public and private &ndash\; are dwindling. Recently\, some Florida counties have even prohibited certain forms of assistance. Thus\, responsible citizens need to ask: What moral obligations do people have with respect to homelessness? How do we best live up to these obligations? And what conditions &ndash\; cultural\, economic\, psychological\, and ethical &ndash\; contribute to homelessness? To explore such questions\, the FGCU philosophy program is hosting a conference on the topic of homelessness on March 21\, 2016. This one-day conference brings together academic speakers from different disciplines as well as community organizers to reflect on the problem of homelessness today.</p>\n<p>This is a public event. No registration is required. For details on the program\, please visit:</p>
