DESCRIPTION:
All of us can accept\nthe challenge and try our own take on this topic: Is life a\nbiological\, or philosophical\, theological or paleoarcheological\,\nsocial scientific or psychological issue\, or all of it\, and many\nothers? Are the best representations of life presented by artists\,\nare the best explanations by biosemioticians? Is life a process of\ndying slowly\, or a prelude to something else?
\n
The conference theme\nis What Is Life? Under\nthis title we will explore numerous approaches to the unfathomable\ndepth and mystery - and research object without limits -\, called\nlife. President Antje Jackel&eacute\;n gave a start to our reflections:\n&ldquo\;This &ldquo\;simple&rdquo\; question can be approached from a number\nof exciting and cutting-edge perspectives. Just imagine the fact that\nthere is no universally agreed-upon definition of what life really\nis\, and yet &hellip\; So biology will open the floor. What does the study\nof macroscopic systems add to the perspectives of molecular biology?\nWhere are we on the issue of life in the universe? What is there to\nbe said about artificial life\, synthetic life or technological\nenhancement of existing life? What does philosophy tell us about good\nlife (lives)? Life and sacredness &ndash\; or what else does theology add\nto what we can know about life in 2012?These\nare some of the issues we aim to pursue.&rdquo\;
\n
