DESCRIPTION:<p>The Duquesne University Graduate Students invite papers from any period in philosophy\, including major figures from Plato to Ranci&egrave\;re and also comparative philosophy with an emphasis on Asian philosophical traditions. Topics and themes may include\, but are not limited to:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>the role of work in society</li>\n<li>histories of art</li>\n<li>the aestheticization of politics</li>\n<li>spectatorship and democracy</li>\n<li>ecology and the environment</li>\n<li>architecture and philosophy</li>\n<li>aesthetics and education</li>\n<li>aesthetic practices and political action</li>\n<li>sensation and embodiment</li>\n<li>political commitments in art</li>\n<li>boundaries between politics and art</li>\n<li>film and philosophy</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br>Presentations will be 20 minutes (around 3000 words). Papers should be prepared for blind review\, with no name or identifying information included in the body of the paper. Please send a separate cover page with your name and contact information. Please send full papers and cover pages to duqgsip@duq.edu. Potential presenters must currently be graduate students. The deadline for submissions is January 2nd\, 2012.</p>
