DESCRIPTION:<p>The Philosophy Branch of the WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business)\,&nbsp\;the Department of Philosophy of the University of Vienna\,&nbsp\;and the Vienna Forum for Analytic Philosophy&nbsp\;jointly host the conference&nbsp\;"Wittgenstein on Colour".<br><br>Dates:</p>\n<p>Tuesday\, June 26\, 2012\, at the University of Vienna<br>Wednesday\, June 27\, 2012\, at the WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business)</p>\n<p>Ludwig Wittgenstein's so-called "Remarks on Colour" are frequently&nbsp\;described as extremely fragmented and exceptionally difficult to&nbsp\;understand\, and their significance remains (on the whole) unclear.&nbsp\;Furthermore\, compared with other aspects of Wittgenstein's philosophy\,&nbsp\;his thoughts on colour have\, to date\, received little attention.&nbsp\;For this reason\, the Philosophy Branch of the WU\, the Department of&nbsp\;Philosophy of the University of Vienna and the Vienna Forum for Analytic&nbsp\;Philosophy will be hosting a conference that aims to substantially&nbsp\;advance our understanding of this material\, which is without doubt among&nbsp\;the most opaque and perplexing of Wittgenstein's writings.</p>\n<p><strong>Program</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Monday\, June 25th</strong><br>(Vienna University of Economics and Business\, Festival Hall)<br><br>6.00 pm - 06.15<br>Conference opening<br><br>6:15 pm - 07.45 pm<br>Andrew Lugg (University of Ottawa)<br>When and why was "Remarks on Colour" written - and why it is important to know?<br><br>Session Chair: Gabriele M.
