DESCRIPTION:
When Oswald K&uuml\;lpe untimely died in 1915\, at the age of 53\, he was one of the most reputed and promising philosophers and psychologists of his time. As a psychologist\, K&uuml\;lpe had established the W&uuml\;rzburg school\, devoting himself to the experimental investigation of (imageless) thought. Besides that\, K&uuml\;lpe contributed to general psychology\, to the study of feelings\, attention and many other topics. As a philosopher\, K&uuml\;lpe developed Realism in an original and interesting manner. In his unfinished masterpiece Die Realisierung\, he analyzes the intellectual path towards reality in the natural sciences\, but also in the Geisteswissenschaften and metaphysics. His contributions to logic\, ethics\, aesthetics\, together with his original interpretation of Kant&rsquo\;s thought and his discussion of contemporary German philosophy show his deep and partly still unexplored commitment to philosophy.&nbsp\;Unsurprisingly\, K&uuml\;lpe&rsquo\;s legacy is manifold. Besides his critical relation to Wilhelm Wundt\, his ideas influenced many psychologists and philosophers\, including the young Martin Heidegger in his juvenile writing on the problem of reality.
\n
Contributions concerning all of these aspects of K&uuml\;lpe&rsquo\;s thought are welcome. We also consider contribution concerning the members of the W&uuml\;rzburg School. &nbsp\;We aim at a definition of K&uuml\;lpe&rsquo\;s intellectual figure as a whole\, including his role in the history of philosophy and of psychology\, discussions of his theories and insights\, his relationship with other personalities and his influence over them.
\n
We welcome texts in Italian\, English\, French and German language. An english abstract of no more than 150 words must be included. Manuscripts will undergo a standard process of double blind review. Only original\, unpublished manuscripts are eligible.
Please send your .doc or .docx anonymous file together with another document including your personal data to Riccardo Martinelli\, University of Trieste\, at the following e-mail address: martinel@units.it.
\n
Deadline: December 31\, 2016&nbsp\;
\n
Decision: February 28\, 2017
\n
Final version: April 30\, 2017.
\n
We warmly recommend to notify in advance\, after the publication of the call for papers\, the intention to contribute.
\n
Please note that the final version must be conform to the stylesheet and include\, only if the case\, the corrections or improvements that the referees may request.
