DESCRIPTION:
CALL FOR PAPERS
\n
SUPEREROGATION AND THE LIMITS OF MORAL OBLIGATIONS
\n
We are pleased to announce a monographic issue of E&amp\;P on Supererogation and the Limits of Moral Obligations. This issue will try to further analyze the concept of Supererogation as related to the limitation of the reach of moral obligations. More specifically\, we are looking for contributions that will address directly or indirectly one of the questions listed below: 1. The so-called &ldquo\;good ought tie up&rdquo\; conception of ethics. Does any instance of good always entail obligatory performance? 2. Is it ever possible to limit the reach of moral obligations? 3. Is the concept of Supererogation a necessary feature of any moral theory? 4. How is it possible to evaluate the threshold of the &ldquo\;good enough&rdquo\; beyond which supererogatory acts lie? 5. The relationship between Supererogation and moral praiseworthiness. Is a supererogatory act always to be considered praiseworthy? 6. What is the relationship between the performance of a supererogatory act and moral character?
\n
The issue will include both original papers by invited contributors and contributions selected through this Call for Papers. All the papers will undergo blind evaluation before acceptance or rejection. Scholars at any career stage are invited to submit a paper.
\n
Deadline: Papers must be sent as .doc\\.docx to grigoletto.simone@gmail.com by September 30th 2016.
