DESCRIPTION:<p>The\n RIT Philosophy Department invites papers that address any topic on or \nrelated to Epictetus and Stoicism\, including\, but not limited to: \nhappiness\, tranquility\, detachment\, reason\, fate\, volition\, agency\, what\n is (and is not) under\n our control\, our moral purpose\, virtue\, cosmic order\, divine \nprovidence\, death\, the Stoic sage\, Epictetus as teacher\, influence of \nearlier thinkers on Epictetus\, Epictetus&rsquo\;s influence on later thinkers \n(including writers of our own time)\, the &ldquo\;practical&rdquo\; philosophy\n of Stoicism\, and comparisons and contrasts with other traditions (such \nas Buddhism\, Epicureanism\, Christianity).</p>\n<p>Submission\n Deadline: January 15\, 2012.
