Six Hundred Years after his Rediscovery</em> &ndash\; Alghero/Sassari (Sardinia\, Italy) 15-17 June 2017.</p>\n<p>Organizers:</p>\n<p>Valentina Prosperi\, Classical Philology\, University of Sassari</p>\n<p>Diego Zucca\, Ancient Philosophy\, University of Sassari</p>\n<p>Department of History\, Human Sciences and Education - University of Sassari</p>\n<p>Via Zanfarino 62 &ndash\; 70100 &ndash\; Sassari (Italy)</p>\n<p>The conference\, entitled &ldquo\;<em>Lucretius Poet and Philosopher.</em> <em>Six Hundred Years after his Rediscovery</em>&rdquo\;\, will bring together leading scholars and young researchers to share their research on Lucretius&rsquo\; philosophy and writings. The conference will also be a celebration of the 600th anniversary of the rediscovery of Lucretius during the Renaissance. The conference will deal with the impact of Lucretius&rsquo\; Epicureanism within ancient philosophy as well as on the reception of both his philosophical teaching and his poetry in Early Modern culture.</p>\n<p>Topics can focus on any relevant aspects of Lucretius&rsquo\;s poetry and thought. Possible topics include: papers engaging with the impact Lucretius had either in his own day or in subsequent ages and cultures\; and papers dealing with ancient thought\, Epicureanism and Lucretius&rsquo\;s relationship to previous Greek and Latin thinkers.</p>\n<p>Scholars from all academic levels are invited to submit an abstract.
