DESCRIPTION:<p>Announcing the&nbsp\;<strong>5th annual Penn-Rutgers-Princeton Social Epistemology Workshop!</strong>&nbsp\; &nbsp\;</p>\n<p>The workshop aims to bring together scholars of social epistemology to gain familiarity with each other's work and encourage future collaboration.&nbsp\;<strong>The workshop will be April 8-9\, 2017 at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.</strong> &nbsp\;</p>\n<p>We welcome proposals for presentations of work in social epistemology\, broadly construed\, from graduate students and faculty in any discipline.&nbsp\; Proposals can be of works-in-progress\, and proposals should be suitable for a 20-30 minute presentation.&nbsp\; Possible topics include but are not limited to: rational responses to peer disagreement\, knowledge by testimony\, deference to experts\, group beliefs and their justification\, division of cognitive labor\, epistemic arguments for democracy\, and institutional design.&nbsp\; Graduate students are especially encouraged to submit.&nbsp\; Funds to support graduate student travel may be available\, pending institutional support. &nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Please send a blinded abstract of roughly 2 pages (no more than 600 words)&nbsp\;as a PDF&nbsp\;to&nbsp\;singerd@phil.upenn.edu&nbsp\;with the subject "PRPSEW5 Abstract" by January 25th\, 2017. The program committee aims to notify participants by February 15th about the decision.</p>
