DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>Understanding Value is back! After an incredibly successful fifth conference\, we are already well on our way with Understanding Value Six.</strong> &nbsp\; We are delighted to announce that the University of Sheffield's graduate philosophy conference <em>Understanding Value </em>will return for a&nbsp\;sixth event in 2017. The conference will take place on the <strong>19</strong><strong>th&ndash\;21st July 2017.</strong> <em>Understanding Value</em> is an annual conference for postgraduates and recent PhDs dedicated to the philosophical discussion of value. The theme's breadth means that the conference always has an extremely diverse range of talks from a number of different areas of philosophy\, making for highly stimulating discussions and an exciting event. Talks can be from any area of philosophy\,&nbsp\;theoretical or applied\,&nbsp\;and&nbsp\;any tradition within philosophy\,&nbsp\;including interdisciplinary projects\, so long as they are clear and related to the nature of value.<br><br>We will be having&nbsp\;four keynote speakers this year and we are incredibly honoured to confirm that&nbsp\;Maria Baghramian (University College Dublin)\,&nbsp\;Chris Bennett (University of Sheffield)\, Kristie Dotson (Michigan State University)\, and Owen Hulatt (University of York) will be speaking at the conference.<br><br>Please see our Call For Abstracts by going to the tab above. The deadline for submission of abstracts is <strong>April 14th 2017</strong> and we guarantee a response by <strong>May 12th</strong>.<br><br>We will be following the British Philosophical Association (BPA) and Society for Women in Philosophy (SWIP)&nbsp\;guidelines throughout the conference.
