UID:20260606T164238Z-iCalPlugin-Grails@philevents-web-bd7db559-gt5qm
TZID:Europe/Brussels
LOCATION:Leuven\, Belgium
DESCRIPTION:
The aim of this event is to help those working on theories of global justice to identify and address&nbsp\;specific moral issues that international economic institutions raise. For example: &lsquo\;Should the WTO&nbsp\;have a role in enforcing labour rights?&rsquo\;\; &lsquo\;Do economic institutions have a moral duty to mitigate&nbsp\;their negative effects on the poor and on the environment?&rsquo\;\; &lsquo\;Should economic institutions&nbsp\;promote equality of opportunity?&rsquo\;\; &lsquo\;What are the ethical issues relating to currency devaluations?&rsquo\;

These and similar issues have become increasingly salient\, both because of advances in the debate&nbsp\;on global justice and because the recent economic and financial crisis has emphasised our shared&nbsp\;economic vulnerabilities.

Registration and participation in the conference are free of charge. Unfortunately\, we are unable to&nbsp\;provide financial support for travel or accommodation

Please send all correspondence to:&nbsp\;globaljusticebelgium@gmail.com
