DESCRIPTION:<p>The <em>Ontario Legal Philosophy Partnership</em> (OLPP) Annual Graduate Student Conference is a free academic event at which we showcase recent work in legal theory and the philosophy of law. The presented papers range in topics from feminist legal theory\, philosophy of criminal law\, international law\, constitutionalism\, and many more. While acceptance is given only to graduate and law students\, all are welcome to attend (including students\, faculty\, or any persons with a general interest in legal theory).</p>\n<p>We are currently accepting graduate and law student submissions relating to all areas within legal theory including\, but not limited to:</p>\n<p>&uuml\;&nbsp\; General and Normative Jurisprudence</p>\n<p>&uuml\;&nbsp\; The Nature of Law</p>\n<p>&uuml\;&nbsp\; Law and Morality</p>\n<p>&uuml\;&nbsp\; Judicial Review/ Judicial Activism/ Theories of the Judicial Role</p>\n<p>&uuml\;&nbsp\; Constitutionalism</p>\n<p>&uuml\;&nbsp\; Criminal Law and Punishment Theory</p>\n<p>&uuml\;&nbsp\; Feminist Approaches to Legal Theory/ Critical Legal Studies</p>\n<p>&uuml\;&nbsp\; The History of Legal Philosophy</p>\n<p>&uuml\;&nbsp\; Law and Authority</p>\n<p>&uuml\;&nbsp\; International Law</p>\n<p>&uuml\;&nbsp\; Controversies related to all areas of law (Tort Law\, Administrative Law\, Contract Law\, Family Law\, etc.)</p>\n<p>Papers should be approximately 3000-4000 words in length.&nbsp\; Each successful applicant will be given a one-hour presentation slot\, of which 25-30 minutes will be dedicated to presenting the paper\, and the other 30-35 minutes dedicated to participant questions and discussion. An abstract of 100-200 words should accompany all papers. <strong>All papers and abstracts must be electronically submitted by March 17th\, 2017.</strong></p>\n<p>A panel of legal philosophy graduate students and professors at McMaster\, and law students and professors at Osgoode Hall will review submissions using the criteria of interest\, sophistications\, clarity\, and general overlap with similar themes. All papers will be subject to blind review. <strong>Notice of acceptance will be given on April 14th\, 2017</strong>.
