SUMMARY:Methode - Analytic Perspectives - Special Issue "Art\, Objects"
UID:20260403T220851Z-iCalPlugin-Grails@philevents-web-f5d4878dd-4s97k
TZID:Europe/London
DESCRIPTION:
Scope of the issue and topics for contributions:
The issue focuses on the investigation of Aesthetics and its connection to art\, in order to reveal the different conceptions of aesthetic experience that have been elaborated within Analytical Philosophy.
The pluralism in the world of contemporary art leads to a wide range of philosophical questions inferring a concurrence between Analytic Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art: if Aesthetics heads towards an epistemic field\, i.e. the aesthetic experience\, and Philosophy of Art heads towards a metaphysic field - requiring the specification of the very object of its analysis - can we presume that art is the object of investigation of both disciplines? What is art and why was a &ldquo\;definitive definition&rdquo\; for it never found?
Moreover\, if Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art have always undertaken the investigation of the essence of art\, could they be thought of as synonymous?
The main Italian and Anglo-American representatives of Analytic Aesthetics will exchange views in order to reflect on the role of these disciplines in the clarification of art\, and papers are invited to investigate this philosophical question through the analysis of particular works of art (architecture\, literature\, music and visual art).
\n
Editors
Alessandra Galbusera (Fondazione S. Carlo\, Modena)
Pietro Kobau (University of Turin)
