DESCRIPTION:<p>The question concerning nature is one that emerges in various contexts across Heidegger&rsquo\;s&nbsp\;voluminous writings\, both early and late. Over the last decade\, the theme has been the subject of&nbsp\;increasingly incisive analysis.&nbsp\;ACU's School of Philosophy and its Centre for Philosophy\, Religion and Culture\, is hosting a two-day workshop on the theme&nbsp\;of &ldquo\;Heidegger and Nature&rdquo\; that looks to bring together the many threads of this debate.</p>\n<p>Possible paper topics include\, but are by no means limited to:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heidegger\, nature and environmental philosophy&nbsp\;</li>\n<li>Nature\, <em>technē </em>and the question of technology</li>\n<li><em>Natura\, Vorhandenheit </em>and the critique of ontotheology&nbsp\;</li>\n<li>Nature and history</li>\n<li>Nature\, world and &ldquo\;world-entry&rdquo\;</li>\n<li>Nature and earth in &ldquo\;Origin of the Work of Art&rdquo\; and later works</li>\n<li>Nature in the context of poetic dwelling and <em>Gelassenheit</em></li>\n<li>Heidegger&rsquo\;s reading of <em>phusis </em>in the Presocratics and Aristotle</li>\n<li>Different senses of <em>Natur </em>in &ldquo\;Being and Time&rdquo\; and the&nbsp\;Marburg period</li>\n<li>Nature and animality in &ldquo\;Fundamental Concepts of Metaphysics&rdquo\;.&nbsp\;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS</p>\n<p>We welcome 600 word abstracts for 30-40 minute papers.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Abstracts should be emailed to <strong><a href="mailto:richard.colledge@acu.edu.au">richard.colledge@acu.edu.au</a> </strong>with the subject line &ldquo\;Heidegger Conference submission&rdquo\; by&nbsp\;Friday 5 May 2017.</p>
