DESCRIPTION:The question concerning nature is one that emerges in various contexts across Heidegger&rsquo\;s \;voluminous writings\, both early and late. Over the last decade\, the theme has been the subject of \;increasingly incisive analysis. \;ACU's School of Philosophy and its Centre for Philosophy\, Religion and Culture\, is hosting a two-day workshop on the theme \;of &ldquo\;Heidegger and Nature&rdquo\; that looks to bring together the many threads of this debate.
\nPossible paper topics include\, but are by no means limited to:
\n\n- Heidegger\, nature and environmental philosophy \;
\n- Nature\, technē and the question of technology
\n- Natura\, Vorhandenheit and the critique of ontotheology \;
\n- Nature and history
\n- Nature\, world and &ldquo\;world-entry&rdquo\;
\n- Nature and earth in &ldquo\;Origin of the Work of Art&rdquo\; and later works
\n- Nature in the context of poetic dwelling and Gelassenheit
\n- Heidegger&rsquo\;s reading of phusis in the Presocratics and Aristotle
\n- Different senses of Natur in &ldquo\;Being and Time&rdquo\; and the \;Marburg period
\n- Nature and animality in &ldquo\;Fundamental Concepts of Metaphysics&rdquo\;. \;

\nABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS
\nWe welcome 600 word abstracts for 30-40 minute papers. \;
\nAbstracts should be emailed to richard.colledge@acu.edu.au with the subject line &ldquo\;Heidegger Conference submission&rdquo\; by \;Friday 5 May 2017.
